Why Arbitration?
Commercial arbitration offers businesses an alternative to traditional litigation when resolving commercial disputes both internationally and within a single jurisdiction. It provides parties with a confidential, flexible, and efficient process that can be tailored to their specific needs. Arbitration also offers speed and cost-effectiveness, enabling companies to maintain business relationships and avoid the public exposure of courtroom proceedings. Arbitrations result in awards that are binding, with limited avenues for appeal.
International commercial arbitration is now the go-to method for resolving disputes between parties located in different countries. It offers neutrality, enforceability, and adaptability—qualities that are especially important when dealing with cross-border contracts and transactions. Parties can select arbitrators with experience in the relevant industry and legal systems, ensuring that the process accommodates diverse commercial practices and legal frameworks. The New York Convention and other international treaties help make arbitral awards enforceable in most jurisdictions worldwide, providing security and predictability for global commerce.
